Description
This enzyme is a genetically engineered nucleic acid endonuclease derived from Serratia marcescens. It is a homodimer of 30 kDa subunits with two essential disulfide bonds. It cleaves and degrades all forms of DNA and RNA (single-stranded, double-stranded, linear and cyclic) under a wide range of conditions, with an optimal working pH at 8.0-9.2. It digests nucleic acids into 5'-monophosphate oligonucleotides of 3-5 bases in length, which is ideal for removing nucleic acids from recombinant proteins and for applications that require complete digestion of nucleic acids.
